Neurobiologists have found that serotonin and dopamine, the exciters, endorphins and feel-good, calm-down indicators of our moods are both highly increased during warm, pleasant sunny weather. In fact, as long as it is not unreasonably hot, warm weather is one of the most ideal conditions by which humans measure their good mood throughout the day. Sunshine has been proven scientifically as absolutely necessary to the reproduction of cells, and this includes all types of cells, including stem cells. This means that, the more sunshine you receive during the day, the more likely you are to be reproducing healthy cells.

Now, sunshine is not liked by everyone. There are some people who prefer cold weather or rainy conditions, and these people are more likely to become unreasonably hot during pleasantly warm conditions. This could be due to several things, including but not limited to overactive thyroid or parathyroid, inflamed muscles or tissues, or being overweight and overheating easily. People who overheat easily tend to be somewhat immune to cold weather and feel more active and social during cold weather when their bodies are operating under prime temperatures. However, the majority of people do better in warm balmy sunny weather, and this is generally due to the sunshine and fresh air they receive in abundance when they spend a great deal of time outside. It is not so much about their preferred weather conditions, as it is about the chemical and serotonin production within their minds and muscles.

Workplace drug testing improves personal responsibility, which helps to create similar feelings of endorphins, much like the ones we experience when exposed to warm direct sunlight. Employee drug and alcohol testing improves personal accountability for actions on the jobsite, which in turn improves feelings of self confidence and accomplishment. These feelings of accomplishment are important for internal motivation on the jobsite. Internal motivation is one of the highest qualities an employee can possess. Employee drug and alcohol screening is a huge benefit in the workplace, both directly and indirectly. Call CMM Technology today: (+61) 1300 79 70 30.

How about for a specific period of time? In many cases, this is due to simple gastrointestinal overload. In simple terms, your food is taking too long to clear your intestines and bowel and leave your body. Although the percentages cited by researchers vary between 60% and 80%, it is still widely known that digestion takes up well over fifty percent of your body’s energy resources. This is why your body may feel tired or sluggish up to four hours after a meal, especially if the meal is carbohydrate based, such as bread, grain, pasta, cake, cookies and other refined grain products. Although healthy vegetables, such as potatoes, are considered to be high in carbohydrates, these are complex carbohydrates and in many ways are more easily digested than simple carbohydrates. So what cleans your digestion out so that things run smoothly through your colon?

Well, the shortest and most obvious answer is to drink a bottle of prune juice. However, this is a very painful process (albeit relatively quick) to undergo, because the prune juice creates large amounts of gas through your intestines, which rolls over itself and thoroughly cleans out your intestine, during eight to twelve long and excruciating hours.

The simple and far less painful solution is to simply eat more organic meat, raw fruits and vegetables, and drink plenty of hot water (preferably hot lemon water) along with your more refined cakes and breads. The composition of refined foods tends to become compressed down into a hard little knot, which must then travel throughout your digestive system and takes a really long time to get through, and drains the majority of your body’s energy during the entire progress of its transit. Hot lemon water, well-chewed raw vegetables, and easily digested meat (meat is always easily digested) are excellent ways to thin out the hard lumps of refined food, melt down existing lumps, and bring your bowel movement to fruition within thirty minutes of eating.

Since drugs and alcohol also act as refined foods and take a great deal of time to leave your body, it is an additional benefit to have employee drug testing within your business on a regular basis. At the very least, it helps keep things running smoothly in all areas of your business. Call CMM Technology today for information on drug and alcohol testing equipment:(+61) 1300 79 70 30.

Either you seem to invite too many people into your personal space and allow yourself to be screwed over in some way, or your draw into yourself too harshly and become far too introspective for your own good, cutting beloved and trusted friends and family out of even the most social parts of your life. On top of this, once you believe that you have hit a solid equilibrium between the two worlds, it can all come crashing down when the spoken opinions of others tell you that you are being too naïve or too closed in.

Defining your personal space takes a great deal of risk taking and boldness and subtlety and discretion. In other words, it is a sea with two shores and tides which fluctuate in between the two shores. Fortunately, many people who are well rounded and psychologically healthy are able to wash these waves up on both shores and keep themselves in the middle. These are people who understand that personal relationships and working relationships are not easily defined and navigated, and take a great deal of time and patience to work out the kinks. Numbers are predictable, art is subjective, but people…people are another matter entirely. Relationships with people can be influence and manipulated, but in the end the dominant traits of both parties will be the deciding factors in how the relationship becomes defined and how the two people relate to each other.

Unfortunately, drug addicts and alcoholics do not recognize that relationships with people grow and change over time and that these require time and patience and commitment to nuking it out with the other person when you both roll over a hard part. These people believe incorrectly that this is supposed to be simple and that when it gets hard then it must be incorrect, and they tend to either leave or become emotionally or physically irrational with the other person.

Fortunately, drug and alcohol testing in the workplace is designed to be able to identify these people, especially should they become a threat to your business or personal assets. Call CMM Technology today:(+61) 1300 79 70 30.

We are told constantly that a person should be seen for who they really are, not for how they appear in public. In fact, we are often told that judging someone as being beautiful or good looking is shallow and condescending to their intelligence. This is all based upon the supposedly shallow basis of the fashion and beauty industries. Interestingly enough, they are both multi-billion dollar industries, and one has to question whether they are being entirely funded by models and designers. Clearly, more people care about beauty than we’d like to admit. Is this due to advertising or some other reason?

Although advertising is often used as a model, the decision to look clean, well-dressed and like someone with a home is pretty universal to individuals who value themselves and how they appear. In fact, care of the physical body on the outside is often a reflection of how the person views themselves on the inside. Many people do not dress up for the benefit of others, but because that is how they feel about themselves. And can it be 100% noble when someone refuses to bathe and smell decent and dress in clean clothes and yet they insist that you accept them for who they really are on the inside? Isn’t their outward appearance a reflection of how they see themselves, and their attitude toward you only a defensive one?

These questions are thrown back and forth across the gap between the inner beauty fanatics and the outer beauty fanatics. Somewhere in between though, there is simple care and grooming for the body in which you live, and that is reasonable. Employees who abuse their bodies by abusing drugs or alcohol are also making a statement about themselves. Workplace drug testing makes a statement about how you expect others to conduct business with you and with each other inside your business. These are all indications of deeper intention. If your intention is to monitor potential employee drug or alcohol use, then workplace drug testing is for you. Call CMM Technology today:(+61) 1300 79 70 30

Fortunately, drug testing is both an art and a science, yielding incredible results and data concerning your employees, and this ability is not to be taken lightly. There was a time when employees who were abusing substances on the side could not be caught unless they actually showed up to work drunk and it was obvious to certain people that they were. Drug addiction was more difficult to detect, especially if it was only used recreationally, which is often enough to pose as a health and safety hazard, but not strong enough to be all that noticeable while on the jobsite.

While many employers do not use employee drug and alcohol screening because they do not feel it is necessary, others are being defrauded by their employees, an incident which potentially could have been prevented by the use of drug and alcohol screening. Sometimes, when offices are small and everyone goes out for dinner or drinks together afterward, it may seem as if you would be able to tell if one of your employees is under the influence. However, this is not always the case. For one thing, you may be so attached to your workers that you tend to turn a blind eye on any unusual behavior. For another, closeness of time and proximity does not always mean that abusing employees cannot deceive everyone. Lastly, drug and alcohol testing provides scientific documentation of their illicit behavior, which is admissible in court and is legally binding. In this manner, if you should fire a long-time employee because of their drug use or alcoholism, you can protect your company from lawsuit.

At CMM Technology, drug and alcohol testing is very interesting, and we enjoy bringing a sense of safety and security to your business. Call us today: (+61) 1300 79 70 30.

Unfortunately, many businesses need to be valued at a lower price, but this is not just important for the sake of honesty with investors, but for some other reasons, as well.

Valuing your business at its actual price, or net worth, is beneficial in figuring out estimated growth for future years and in figuring out where investment needs to be put in, as well as determining where the business is failing or not drawing in any income. Many business owners avoid putting a price on their business because they take it personally, and they believe that everything is fine just as it is. However, companies are dynamic organisms which must be evaluated and grown much like a plant or a child, where you critically determine where it is floundering and where it is thriving.

Valuing your business takes a lot of humility, because just about every company out there over-values themselves, thinking that they are worth much more than they actually are. When you sit down and run the real, honest numbers, you may not like what you get, but at least you are not living in a fairy tale. Understanding how small or how large your business is and understanding what it should be worth will help you in assessing what needs to be done to help it grow. It becomes almost impossible to develop and grow when you do not understand why it is the current value that it is.

Fortunately, tools like drug and alcohol testing assist in keeping track of runaway numbers, such as employee turnover and, more importantly, the cost of employee turnover, which can be quite expensive in the long run if not kept in check to a reasonable degree. And when you are valuing your company, remember to make sure that every penny is documented. Fraud within a company is rarely detected until an account audit is brought in from outside and secrets are revealed.

Call CMM Technology today to help secure your business with the protection of drug and alcohol screening: (+61) 1300 79 70 30.

Trust in yourself and in your own actions is one of the key factors in running a business successfully. If you do not have this trust in yourself, then perhaps you are not the right person for the job. This is not referring to false confidence or pompous arrogance, or at least not arrogance which cannot be backed properly with actions. This is referring to understanding what you are capable of doing, and then not second guessing yourself part way through the process. If you cannot follow through on your ideas and actions without falling victim to self degradation, then you may not be able to handle any higher responsibilities than the ones you currently possess.

Time management is one of the ways in which many people second guess themselves. When they allow too much time for a task, they may perform it too slowly or they may feel that they have all day to do it, and so it does not matter when they begin. Either way, allowing too much time for a task often results in the activity not being completed at all, or being completed late. People who do this are often not very respected in their social and private circles, since everyone has to wait on them or they show up in the middle of an event or concert while it is already in progress.

When people allow too little time for a task, believing that this will motivate them to perform better, they give up somewhere in the middle because they already defeated. They have set themselves up for failure since they naturally will never be able to complete the task on time. This sucks all of the life and enjoyment out of the task. People who do this often burn out too quickly, and are frequently frustrated.

Trust in yourself must be combined with appropriate time management, where tasks are given a certain reasonable time for completion and then they are followed through on each and every time. Unfortunately, employees who are abusing substances often find that they have poor time management skills and that they cannot competently complete their tasks on time. This is a good reason to begin using employee drug and alcohol screening on a regular basis. Call CMM Technology today: (+61) 1300 79 70 30.

“Hi. To begin, what would your definition of a dry alcoholic be?”

“Well, I don’t actually drink alcohol, but there is virtually no difference between me and a regular drunk. I still think the same as they do and have the same weaknesses and strengths, and I tend to blow up just like a full on drunk, but that can be caused by the smallest offsets. I don’t actually have to be drunk to blow up.”

“So how does your dry alcoholism affect your life? Does it really affect you negatively?”

“I realize that the term “dry drunk” doesn’t sound that threatening to victims of wet drunks, but the truth is, I can be just as dangerous, if not more so when I’m upset. I’m not able to handle basic tasks such as going to work and coming home, just like a regular alcohol isn’t able to do.”

“What sets you off? How is your behavior different from someone who is just irritated or angry?”

“It’s very different. I can become violent, and I have caused physical damage in the past. It is extremely difficult for me to feel empathetic toward anyone, since my personality coupled with this disorder gives me sociopathic tendencies. I just don’t care about people like others do, but some of that may just be my personality.”

“But what makes you angry?”

“Anything. Anything out of the ordinary or that is not what I expect or that stresses me out or something like that. I can’t even handle peace, so I sure as hell can’t handle even the littlest amount of stress. And I don’t just get angry. I get stressed out and afraid and really easily overwhelmed with even the smallest details.”

“What do you believe caused this disorder?”

“I have no idea. I hate it so much. It’s like, I can be sitting in my home, and I can be thinking of all of the things I could or should be doing, and I am physically able to go do them…but I can’t do them.”

“What do you mean you can’t do them? What stops you?”

“Nothing. Nothing stops me. That’s the whole point. They are sitting right there for me to do. I don’t have a hard job. I’m not physically handicapped. My household chores are quite easy. I can’t do them, though. I can feel really guilty about it, but I just can’t bring myself to do them. And when I do force myself to just go about my day and get stuff done and run errands, I have to recuperate for almost half a day or a whole day afterward, because it is that stressful on me. I sleep a lot.”

“You sleep a lot?”

“Yeah, theguilt of not getting basic stuff…it eats away at me. Sometimes, it is easier to just go to bed and sleep until I feel better. When I wake up, though, I am just as guilty, and it hurts just as bad as before.”

“When did you first start having symptoms of dry alcoholism?”

“I first noticed the difference when I was a teenager. I think that I hit adolescence and I no longer had the capabilities of growing that I had before. I think my wet alcoholic parents must have stopped growing inside when they were kids, and that is as far as I grew, as well. I had no other example.”

Hazardous jobs are one thing, but hazardous working conditions are another. There will always be high risk jobs, most of which pay relatively well, but some working conditions increase the danger to each employee’s health and well being.

In most cases, drug testing is mandatory in high hazard industries. This is to keep unnecessary hazards from infusing the workplace, hazards such as drug addiction and alcoholic behavior. Not only would employees be setting a poor example for each other, but being unable to fully and quickly control your own faculties is a dangerous thing, even in a safe job. However, high hazard positions are fraught with stress, protocol, and safety procedures which are not just followed because it is recommended, but because there are lives at stake. In these jobs, safety protocol such as drug and alcohol testing is necessary.

Employees who are not suited for these positions are people who are overwhelmed by the potential risk involved. This is of course understandable, but not everyone is as easily overwhelmed. Some people enjoy a rock hard challenge, and they enjoy the fact that they must understand everything about their job and their coworkers jobs in order to even be safe while at work. It is not just a thrill ride for them, but a test of their stamina and creativity. When they live up to the challenge, they are met with success. When they are not, they are met with hazard and potentially a fatality. Obviously, not everyone is suited for this type of work.

Drug and alcohol screening is designed to reduce all types of risk within your company, and CMM Technology distributes drug tests and alcohol breathalyser devices which get the job done. Call us today: (+61) 1300 79 70 30.

This is a real life story from the author of this article on why employee drug and alcohol screening is so important: When I was fourteen years old, my dad used to work as an alternative therapist in the same office building as a highly successful chiropractor and two massage therapists. The chiropractor had his own store front, with a receptionist and the works, and during his business hours, I used to visit with Angela, the front desk receptionist, while she received patients, signed them in, and printed off their progress charts and insurance information.

Angela, was early middle aged with a husband and two children, was very pleasant and all of the chiropractor’s patients loved her and were loyal to her for up to four years after her dismissal. She and I were good friends, and we would often talk about what was going on in our lives.

Occasionally, I would see Angela take cash money from envelopes that clients would give her, and put some of the money into the chiropractor’s account and some of the money into her own purse. I didn’t understand how she ran the office and I knew nothing and I was only fourteen years old, so I just watched and never said anything about it.

During a two week absence for being sick, Angela left the office and the chiropractor’s wife, Phoebe, ran the front office and supervised the back office. Phoebe is really savvy with numbers and understood all of the accounts, and she quickly noticed that her husband did not have all of the money which patients had been paying to him over the years. Yes, Angela had been employed for years by this time. After approximately four months of investigation and tracking Angela’s behavior, the chiropractor and his wife determined that she had been stealing from him for the full term of her employment, to the tune of six figures total. She also regularly did small-time drugs, and covered her tracks relatively well. Could this have been prevented?

In your business operations, it is important to treat people well and with human kindness, and it is also important to look at and keep track of the numbers. Neglecting either side of this equation can result in disgruntled clients or employees and it can result in allowing yourself to be defrauded or manipulated financially. This is why drug and alcohol testing is so successful. The numbers of drug testing simply do not lie, even if everything else does. Call CMM Technology today: (+61) 1300 79 70 30.
